Frequently Asked Questions 1. Why would I need a transcript if I have an audio recording? Audio recordings often are good for general work. However, it's difficult to find one specific part of audio without fast forwarding or rewinding the audio over and over. What a waste of time, when you could just pick up a transcript and flip through the pages to find the exact passage you need. Or, if the transcript is still in a Word file form, you could just search the document for a specific term. 2. What does your company provide that other companies don't? Busy Badger Transcriptions is a small company, dedicated to the profession of transcription. We don't have people from India or the Philippines working for us. We are native English speakers, and we have a great ear for accents, including urban dialects. British, Canadian, Australian, Pakistani, Indian, German, we can work with all of them. Not every company has that ability. 3. What if I decide I want to cancel my order? Orders can be canceled within 24 hours, unless it's a 24 hour turnaround order. In that case, the order must be canceled within 2 hours. 4. What happens if I decide that it's not a good transcription? In that case, Busy Badger Transcriptions will hire another transcription company at our expense to proofread the transcript in question. Should the other transcription company find that the transcript in question meets the specifications given, then Busy Badger Transcriptions will add the cost of the proofreading to the bill already compiled, and will expect prompt payment. Should the other transcription company come to the conclusion that the transcript in question was NOT produced according to the requirements, then Busy Badger will ask that you contact us by phone to arrange repayment of the deposit. 5. What about missed deadlines? We here at Busy Badger Transcriptions hope that never happens, but we all know that no matter how we try, no one is perfect. In the case of a late transcript, we will deduct 10% from the total bill PER DAY that the transcript is late, up until 50%. If it's not done by then, you will receive a free transcript and a 25% discount on your next order. We do NOT expect that to happen, barring death or serious illness, as we are a very small company. 6. How hard is it to order from Busy Badger? Not hard at all! Simply email us at admin@busybadgertranscriptions.com with your formatting requirements and pertinent information. This is also when we will ask for the 10% deposit, based on our estimate.
